FAQs
The best time to visit Gir National Park is from November to March when the weather is pleasant. The park remains closed from June 16 to October 15 each year during the monsoon season.
The main attractions include the thrilling lion safaris Kamleshwar Dam, crocodile breeding center and the Gir Interpretation Zone at Devalia. Additionally, the rich biodiversity and the chance to spot other wildlife such as leopards, deer and a variety of bird species are significant draws.
Safaris are conducted twice daily, in the morning and evening. The morning safari typically runs from 6:00 AM to 9:00 AM, and the evening safari from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Timings may vary slightly based on the season.
For safari booking, you need to provide a valid photo ID. Accepted documents include a passport, driver’s license, voter ID, or Aadhar card (for Indian nationals) & passport (for Non-Indians). Carry the original ID used for booking during the safari for verification.
